Samara DuckworthSamara “Sam” Duckworth has been working in the field of behavioral health since 1990. She has experience in a variety of settings and working with both adults, children and teens. Additionally, she has served as Clinical Director for employee assistance for approximately 70,000 employees across the state of Arkansas. Sam is well versed in Attention deficit disorder, anxiety, depression and relationship issues. She is particularly interested in supervisor consultations and influencing team work and improving resilience in the work place. Sam enjoys facilitating trainings and has developed training in stress management, procrastination, teamwork, and life balance.

Emily Durham, LPC, CEAP

emily-durhamEmily has been working in the field of Human Services and Behavioral Health since 1986. Seventeen of these years have been dedicated to the field of Employee Assistance. She has experience working with adults and adolescents in a variety of contexts including adjustment issues, effective parenting, substance abuse/addiction, geriatric issues and mental illness. Her areas of interest include stress management, effective communication, anger management, assertiveness training, self-esteem building and development of coping and problem solving skills. Emily has a particular interest and expertise in marital/relationship counseling and has advanced training in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy. She has developed a structured six session course of pre-marital/pre-commitment counseling offered to interested couples. In addition, she provides workplace services to AEAP contracts which include supervisor consultation and training, critical incident debriefing and team-building. She also develops and presents a variety of trainings and workshops tailored to the unique concerns of the organization. Training topics include professionalism in the workplace, conflict management, effective customer service, and stress and anger management.

Amy Cates, LCSW

Amy CatesAmy has 12 years of experience in the behavioral health field working with children, adults and families.  She has worked in a variety of settings including; an adoption agency, a medical hospital, the school environment and outpatient mental health clinics.  Her most recent five years of practice were focused in the field of EAP.

Marital/relationship counseling, grief work and supporting those navigating life changes are among her areas of interest. Amy helps individuals, couples and families use their strengths in a solution-focused approach to increase awareness and improve overall functioning.

Valerie McDermott, LCSW

Valerie has been working in the field of Human Services and Mental Health for over twenty five years with children, families and organizations. She utilizes brief, solution-focused interventions within a family-systems frame to help individuals, couples, and families actualize greater well-being. Valerie develops and presents trainings and workshops related to mental health and issues in the workplace. She has extensive experience in consulting with staff within organizations to facilitate improvements in communication, cooperative mediation, goal achievement, and workplace satisfaction. Her special areas of interests include anxiety, stress, midlife challenges, depression, grief and loss, parenting, chronic pain and illness, caregiver burnout, work-life balance, and cooperative mediation.
