No one exists in a vacuum. Your employees will inevitably face distracting personal problems and responsibilities during their employment at your company. And while you may wish that employees could just ignore these things once they cross your threshold, that’s not always possible.
But there are ways to help your employees stay at work and stay productive during difficult times. Offering an employee assistance program (EAP) is one of them.
What is an employee assistance program?
Many Employee Assistance Programs offer telephone and online support as well as a few face-to-face counseling sessions. Arkansas Employee Assistance Program takes pride in our full service program options. We offer customized program offering from 5-10 counseling sessions that can be in person, telephonic or by encrypted video based on the employee’s preference. We also offer trainings and workshops to teach mental wellness to groups and teams with your organization. We offer unlimited consultation sessions with supervisors to help improve team dynamics and productivity. We also will participate in benefit fairs and orientation meetings so that all of your employees will understand this valuable benefit.
We have recently begun using an outcome study tool to measure Arkansas EAP’s impact on absenteeism, presenteesism, work engagement, life satisfaction and workplace distress. Our first year’s results indicate a 77.4% improvement in work absenteeism.
Employee assistance program benefits

- Greater employee retention
- Significantly reduced medical costs arising from early identification and treatment of individual mental health and substance use issues
