Emily has been working in the field of Human Services and Behavioral Health since 1986. Seventeen of these years have been dedicated to the field of Employee Assistance. She has experience working with adults and adolescents in a variety of contexts including adjustment issues, effective parenting, substance abuse/addiction, geriatric issues, and mental illness. Her areas of interest include stress management, effective communication, anger management, assertiveness training, self-esteem building, and the development of coping and problem-solving skills. Emily has a particular interest and expertise in marital/relationship counseling and has advanced training in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy. She has developed a structured six-session course of pre-marital/pre-commitment counseling offered to interested couples. In addition, she provides workplace services to AEAP contracts which include supervisor consultation and training, critical incident debriefing, and team-building. She also develops and presents a variety of training and workshops tailored to the unique concerns of the organization. Training topics include professionalism in the workplace, conflict management, effective customer service, and stress and anger management.
