Prior to joining the AEAP, David worked for over four years at an outpatient mental health clinic doing psychotherapy. His duties include doing initial intakes, assessments, diagnosing, treatment planning, and counseling patients with a multitude of mental health and life problems. David is trained in EMDR, CPT, ACT, CBT, and MI. He has six years of experience un counseling in corrections; five years as the Clinical Treatment Director of an inpatient substance abuse treatment center; and four years of outpatient substance abuse counseling. He is also an LAC in the state of Louisiana.
